Frequently Asked Questions About Ellie Mae™’s Updated Privacy
Policies
Why has Ellie Mae’s Privacy Policy changed?
Ellie Mae has updated its privacy policy to be use and
product-specific and to allow individual users of our website and our
products to quickly and easily find relevant facts about Ellie Mae’s
information handling practices. In addition, we’ve updated our privacy
policies to provide additional information about our collection, use ,
sharing and storage of customer and borrower information.
What changes have been made to the Privacy Policies?
The updated Privacy Policies provide more detail about our marketing
practices, and reflect practices related to new products and services we
offer. In particular, we have added specific disclosures about
Encompass360®
, the Ellie Mae Network (formerly referred to as our ePASS®
system) and the Encompass Compliance Engine (formerly referred to as
Mavent ACE). We also explain our customers’ and their customers’ use of
our CenterWise products, including Electronic Document Management and
WebCenter interfaces as well as adding more detail about the security
measures taken to protect your information and the technical
functionality of any information sharing practices.
Ellie Mae updated our privacy policy to reflect our adoption of
privacy policies and procedures specific to new products and marketing
practices, and to provide customers with more of a layered notice
approach, consistent with evolving standards for privacy policies.
To whom does the updated Privacy Policy apply?
Our updated Ellie Mae Website policy applies
to persons (including customers and authorized users of our software
products) who access Ellie Mae’s website through
www.elliemae.com, including our
Service Center pages for Appraisal Center, Title Center and Loan Center.
Our updated product policies are intended for
persons and entities that have purchased and are using each applicable
product.
Our updated policies are not intended for third party partners of our
users or of Ellie Mae, nor are they directed at individual borrowers
whose transactions may be processed or assessed by Ellie Mae products or
services in the course of standard Ellie Mae product functionality,
including within Encompass360®
, in connection with a CenterWise or Ellie Mae Network transaction or
when running the Encompass Compliance Engine on a particular loan file.
Individuals who transact directly with Ellie Mae’s users, including
through such users’ individualized WebCenters or independent websites,
should refer to the privacy statements on such third party sites to
understand how their information is collected, used and shared by those
parties.
When do the revisions take effect?
You should refer to the Effective Date of each posted policy to learn
when it was last updated because we will continue to revise each policy
as our technology and information practices change. The latest revision
