Loan Origination Software with Vital Contact and Broker Management

DUBLIN, Calif., Oct. 1, 2003 - Ellie Mae, Inc., the leading provider
of desktop and Web-enabled productivity solutions and software for
the mortgage industry, today announced that Encompass, a new enterprise-level
solution that integrates loan origination software (LOS) with tools
and solutions customized to meet the individual needs of the loan
officer, processor and mortgage broker, will be available to all
mortgage professionals beginning in mid-November. Encompass is the
first solution to combine these elements of the mortgage origination
process into one compliant, secure and seamless integrated application.

and one for brokers ( more on this)
- Integrated contact management, marketing and pre-qualification
tools
- Easy-to-use, intuitive, complete LOS functionality
- Individual and management-level loan pipeline viewsEasy-to-use,
intuitive, complete LOS functionality

Encompass also provides brokers, loan officers and processors with
a critical collaboration, management and monitoring tool to assist
in managing loans by identifying and reporting milestones, alerts
and logs. Ellie Mae built Encompass using a technology platform featuring
XML, .NET framework, Microsoft (MS) SQL ServerT and HTML forms support.
The new application is designed in accordance with Mortgage Industry
Standards and Maintenance Organization's (MISMO) guidelines, Internet
Protocol Standards, and an open scalable architecture that is capable
of expansion according to each individual and company's needs.
"Encompass reflects an investment of 18 months and 40,000 hours
of research and development to build a totally 'from the ground up'
system based on how a mortgage origination operation really works," said
Sig Anderman, chairman and CEO of Ellie Mae. "Current LOS solutions
are, basically, forms-processing software with other functionalities
glued on. They don't address the industry's 21st century needs, nor
do they take advantage of 21st century technology. We designed and
developed Encompass by leveraging the most current technology available
today in order to give the broker, loan officer and processor the
tools they need to do their jobs faster, easier and more profitably."
"Encompass is the real deal," said Marc Schwartz, member of Englewood,
N.J.-based Globe Mortgage America. "This complete mortgage solution
from Ellie Mae will forever change the mortgage industry."
"It really takes a company like Ellie Mae, with the expertise the
company already has in automation throughout the mortgage industry,
to take a step back and say, 'okay, how do we really make this a
cohesive solution, soup-to-nuts, reflecting what a mortgage originator
really has to do?'" said Michael Gruener, senior vice president of
Pleasanton, Calif.-based Northpoint Financial. "I think they've done
a tremendous job of taking all the pieces and bringing them together
under this one umbrella. There's really nothing that comes close
to what Ellie Mae is now bringing to the table."
Ellie Mae will begin shipping Encompass in mid-November. The first
version will include all new regulatory changes going into effect
Jan. 1, 2004. Brokers ordering Encompass prior to Jan. 31, 2004 will
receive the software at no cost, including a free first year of support
and maintenance. Cost for subsequent support and maintenance will
be $295 per year. Encompass has a list price of $1,495 for a ten-named
user license. Brokers can reserve Encompass by registering online
at www.freelosupgrade.com or by calling 888-955-9100. Current Genesis 2000
and Contour customers will be migrated to Encompass during the next
year.
"Our rollout strategy for Encompass is simple," explained Anderman. "We
are offering Calyx Point brokers the most attractive alternative
in the marketplace and removing any barriers to trial and use. We
have asked literally hundreds of Calyx Point customers about their
needs and listened carefully. We've designed Encompass so that these
brokers can upload all existing files with only three clicks of the
mouse. We are answering their needs by offering an easy-to-use application
and, if they act before Jan. 31, the solution is free. We want Calyx
Point brokers to try it and see for themselves how an integrated
application will pay big dividends for their business. Beginning
in 2004, we will provide a seamless migration path into the Encompass
solution for our more than 12,000 Genesis 2000 and Contour customers.
We think that the product, the timing and the offer will resonate
loudly throughout the mortgage industry."
