ELLIE MAE ANNOUNCES ENHANCED VERSION OF ENCOMPASS® LOS
New release adds electronic document management solution and more
DUBLIN, CA—June 13, 2005—Ellie Mae Inc., an award-winning provider of innovative software and services for the mortgage industry, has announced the release of a new version of its Encompass® loan origination system (LOS). Encompass 2.7 is scheduled for release in August 2005, and will include several major enhancements over the prior version, Encompass 2.2. Encompass 2.7 will feature an integrated electronic document management solution, increased collaboration features, more reporting tools, new business development capabilities, and more security compliance tools.
Ellie Mae is delivering another industry first. Electronic document management capabilities will be integrated into Encompass, and will enable loan officers, processors and brokers to cost-effectively store, manage and deliver electronic loan documents right from within their Encompass loan origination system. With little effort, originators will be able to convert paper loan documents such as borrower applications, appraisals, bank statements, closing packages and security instruments into electronic documents. These electronic documents will be able to be stored in the program's electronic folders within Encompass, ensuring that all stored documents are linked to loans in the loan origination system. Secure document delivery will also be included, enabling originators to safely exchange files or loan packages with third parties via one of four secure delivery options. Furthermore, originators will be able to comply with long term storage regulations and easily store, archive and access
these electronic documents much more cost-efficiently than storing paper files.
"If we really want originators to embrace the use of electronic documents, then we need to give them an effective method of doing so. Encompass 2.7 equips loan officers, brokers and processors with the tools they need to process loans electronically," says Jonathan Corr, Senior Vice President of Products at Ellie Mae.
A second major enhancement to Encompass allows the integrated contact management system in Encompass to synchronize with Outlook and ACT! "Some originators prefer to use Outlook or Act! for PDA support and advanced calendaring and task functions, so these users will be pleased to learn that Encompass 2.7 can be seamlessly connected to these programs. When a new borrower's contact information is inserted into Encompass, it will automatically appear in the user's contact database of choice, and vice versa. Calendar events will also be synchronized, making sure that both programs have current information at all times," explains Corr.
Encompass 2.7 will also enable the loan officer to easily keep borrowers and their realtors informed regarding the status of their applications in the overall loan process. Instead of relying on inefficient phone or e-mail communications, loan officers will be empowered to give borrowers and/or realtors access to a loan status website, where they can easily access current loan information at any time of the day, from any Internet connection.
Additional Encompass 2.7 Highlights
- An added user interface designed specifically for the person in charge of closing loans provides comprehensive support for the closing process and enables documents to be seamlessly ordered from within Encompass, using a similar approach as ordering credit.
- A new task list capability will enable users to efficiently view, prioritize, and be notified of impending deadlines of tasks that may have otherwise not been tracked.
- Expanded reporting capabilities will make it easier for users to create custom reports.
- Enforcement tool will enable managers or administrators to limit loan officers from originating loans in the states in which they are not licensed.
Encompass customers with current maintenance agreements can upgrade to Encompass 2.7 at no additional charge, and some services in Encompass 2.7 require users to subscribe through Ellie Mae. For more information, originators should go to www.EllieMae.com or call (888) 955-9100.
